Konvertering af resultater af en LAL ASSAY /TAL ASSAYudtrykt i EU/ml eller IE/ml: 1 EU=1 IE.

USP (United States Pharmacopoeia), WHO (World Health Organization) og European Pharmacopoeia har vedtaget en fælles standard.

EU= Endotoksinenhed.

IU=International enhed.

LAL ASSAY = limulus amebocytlysat

TAL ASSAY = tachypleus amecobocytlysat

Ovenstående definition stammer fra USP "amoebocytlysat fra hesteskokrabben (Limulus poly-phemus eller Tachypleus tridentatus).“
